Committee Chair Duties
Obtain a list of winners and the monetary value for the following: Best Ball Partners, Handicap and Club Championship tournaments from the tournament coordinator (Assistant Captain). Provide list to Website chairperson.
Purchase name plates to put on our permanent trophies. Purchase a trophy for the club champion and engrave it with Skagit Golf and Country Club Ladies Champion, their name and year.
Have hole-in-one name plate engraved when a member has one at our club.
Executive Committee will keep the by-laws up to date.
Arrange the menu with the Club Manager for the event at least three to four weeks in advance of the party. The meal will be in place of our Hole in One dinner for the month. Arrange for small entertainment. Payment for the entertainment should be arranged with the Treasurer prior to the event as the budget allows. All members are welcome.
Arrange for the delivery or pick up, the donated food items to the food bank. Take hats, gloves, etc., to the Skagit Valley Herald Christmas Fund. Collect the money that is donated to the Skagit Valley Herald Christmas Fund and give it to the Treasurer for remittance.
Display the eclectic cards for the members to fill in after Tuesday weekly competition in the lounge. Compute the scores at the end of the year to determine winners, gross and net overall, and in divisions. There are usually 4 divisions. Check with the treasurer for the budgeted allowance for the awards. Distribute the prized in pro shop credit at the awards luncheon. Give the list to the pro shop, the club accountant and the Treasurer for payment and disbursements.
Send out appropriate greeting cards to members who are not feeling well or to a member who has lost a loved one.
Obtain the weekly game budget from the Executive Committee.
Divide the total budget amount by the number of Game of the Week days to get amount allotted. This can be flexible depending on participation for that day. Normally early spring and late fall have less players than in the summer season.
Divide the daily amount by number of flights, usually three, sometimes four, depending on the number of players. Pay 3 places and ties in each division. In case of ties, add the amounts together and divide by how many are tied.
On Game of the Week Tuesdays get the daily handicap sheet from the pro shop, the competition signup sheets for each division and a box for finished scorecards with a red pencil to circle the birdies and put it on the table in the lounge. At the end of the day gather the cards and the sheets to take with you to evaluate and figure the results. Record the results and distribute copies to the following: bulletin board, the pro shop for posting winnings and keeping it in our binder, the club bookkeeper and ladies’ treasurer so monies can be monitored.
Monthly Medal ball markers should be given out each month to the low gross and low net of
the field (one per person per year). Toward the end of the year a playoff of all the Monthly
Medal winners is played to determine the Monthly Medal Gross and Net Champion of the year. The winners receive a WSWGA medal to be given at the awards luncheon.
Occasionally someone will break 80, 90, or 100 for the first time on a Tuesday. There are pins for these accomplishments, which will be announced on our next meeting day.
Prepare Game of the Week for our meeting days and advise the Pro Shop for tee assignments and scorecard preparation which they will distribute at the close of our meeting and prior to our shotgun start. The week prior to our meeting day make sure the tee sheet is blocked off for our shotgun start the following week.
Keep track of all birdies and eagles and report them on our weekly competition results so they can be posted to the players’ accounts in the pro shop.
Gather constructive information from the Ladies Club and relay information at the green committee. Inform Ladies Club of Green Committee activity.
Shall assure that all scores are correctly recorded. If handicap issues arise, report them to the Handicap Committee or the Club Pro to settle issues. Get a computer report for the most improved golfer for the season and award the prize at the annual awards luncheon.
Hole-in-One winner selects the dinner for their hole-in-one dinner.
Have a sign-up sheet ready in the morning of the horserace day. Determine the time and the starting hole with the pro shop. Collect the entry fee from those who sign up. Place entrants in teams according to handicaps to make the teams as equal as you can. After play, determine the winning teams, calculate the money, and distribute the funds in cash.
The Ladies Captain or Assistant Captain will personally contact all new members to welcome them to the Ladies Club. She will explain our activities such as competition, handicap, Hole in One club etc. Show the new members where to sign up, how to fill out eclectic cards, competition sheets, etc. Introduce new members at the general meetings.
Write a newsletter for the Skagit Eagle article every time it is being published. Provide it to the Website chairperson to add to the website. Collect information needed to be published and coordinate with Captain and club manager.
Provide a signup sheet to the Website chairperson in advance of the upcoming Team date. Team members will sign up through the website. Communicate at General meeting about event and arrange transportation to the event. Gather cards at event from Team members and report them to the overall Team Captain.
The committee shall consist of the Assistant Captain and the committee of her choice. She will be responsible for establishing policies and procedures governing the Ladies Club tournaments. Such po1icies and procedures, in addition to the ones below must be approved by the Captain prior to each tournament.
• Players must be 21 or older.
• Players must have a current USGA established handicap.
Executive meeting
Collect calendar information, membership list, etc. and be in charge of updating the website for the upcoming year. Update signup form/calendar tee times each week for Game of the Week, add new WSWGA signup forms. Provide signup forms to proshop, as needed.

Represent our club as a delegate to the Washington State Women’s Golf Association. Attend meetings and report WSWGA issues, events, and tournaments to our club. Send in scores for the three WSWGA tournaments the Club participates in. Coordinate information with the Website chairperson.
