The Meeting was called to order at 9:00am
Introductions:
• New member Judi Keeting-Peterson was introduced. She is an artist!
May 5, 2026 Minutes:
• Reviewed & approved minutes. Motion to approve by Kathy Chambers. 2nd to approve by Sharon McCarty. Minutes approved.
BUDGET:
• Angie reviewed the May 2026 Treasurers Report. It is a “working” document and subject to change based on income and new membership fees collected. Patti Baith expressed concern there may not be enough funds to cover current budget. Angie assured everyone with increased number of members, dues and raffle revenue the Club is good financially. The largest expense for the Ladies Club is paying for Ladies to play in the Club Championship. That may need to be discontinued for 2027.
Motion to approve budget by Kelly Coulter. 2nd to approve by Chris Tonheim.
2026 Budget Approved.
OLD Business:
• Please be sure to let us know if you break 80, 90 or 100 for the first time. We want to celebrate those accomplishments with you!
General Information & NEW Business:
• Website Appreciation – Laurie Brown
The Ladies Club expressed HUGE thanks & appreciation to Laurie Brown for all she did to create and launch our Ladies Club website. This one addition has been key in effective communication and a helpful source of information.
Thanks, again Laurie!!
• Committee Updates:
Team, Patti Baith – There is a sign up in the ladies restroom. 4 lowest handicapped players will go to TEAM tournament.
WSWGA, Sharon McCarty – The Skagit team was 9 under par for the May 19 competition. Thanks to Sue Raney, Suzanne Knutson, Laurie McNett, Kelly Coulter, Carolyn Morris & Janice Cunningham.
Greens, Chris Tonheim – Nothing new to report. PLEASE fill your divots. The decision on the new maintenance she is expected on June 8th.
Fellowship, Lisa Adair – Please call or text Lisa if you know of any SGCC member that may have something going on that sending a card would help.
• Golf Closet:
The Golf Closet was organized and moved near the lockers. Please feel free to bring gently used clothing and equipment to the closet for our high school girls’ golf team. Six of our high school players went to State!
• Pro Shop Info:
Craig explained the Best Ball format and rules. ALWAYS enter your gross scores. The pro Shop will make handicap adjustments. The driving range will be grass on Tuesday & Wednesday. One of our reciprocal courses in Canada is proposing a match tournament. May be confirmed for 2027.
• Birdie Tree:
Place a paper bird on the birdie tree in the locker room for any birdie made at any time that you play. Our goal is to fill up the birdie tree! There were 11 birdies made in May!
• New 9-hole League:
There were 5 – 6 ladies playing in the 9-ers last Thursday afternoon. This is open to all.
• Committee Volunteers:
We still need volunteers to help with several committees. Please check with Holly for specific descriptions.
