Continue the growth of women’s amateur golf by hosting an annual State Championship and Senior State Championship.
Provide an environment to promote and encourage good sportsmanship and friendship among golfers.
Provide opportunity for member clubs to compete with other member clubs annually.
Provide opportunities to travel and participate in statewide tournaments.
Host bi-annual meetings of member clubs’ trustees and the WSWGA Board of Directors.
Monthly Medal
Monthly Medal is played once a month by our club. Currently, it is played on the third Tuesday of the month from April through October. Three of these events are WSWGA tournaments: May – Elizabeth Dwan Memorial, June- State Team Tournament, and August – All State Medal Tournament.
A scorecard is kept separate from the main weekly game. Using your course handicap from the day it is played, record your gross score and subtract your course handicap. This scorecard needs to be dated, signed, and attested by another player.
Elizabeth Dwan Memorial Tournament – May
The six lowest net scores qualify as the team. The course par is subtracted from each net score. The differences are added together and the club having the lowest score to par will be the winner. The club WSWGA representative will send in the scores. Individual trophies are awarded as well as a perpetual trophy will be retained for one year by the winning club. To find out more about Elizabeth Dwan, please see the WSWGA website.
State Team Tournament – June
The 12 lowest net scores qualify as the team, with the lowest 8 as the team and the next 4 as the alternates. The alternates’ scores will be used as the tiebreakers. Match vs. Par is calculated for each player hole-by-hole. Thus, 1 up or 1 down, etc. The club WSWGA representative will send in the scores. A perpetual team trophy will be retained with the winning team for one year. An individual trophy will be awarded to the individual with the least down to par in the field.
All State Medal Tournament – August
This is an individual tournament with four divisions, 0 – 20, 21 – 26, 27 -33, 34 – 40. The score is net score less course par. The low net score including ties from each division will be listed. Winners in each division of the field, including ties, shall receive a trophy. The club WSWGA representative will send in the scores.
You may play one or more of the Monthly Medals.
